Yes, I was fired.
In 2015 I relocated from Austin to Brooklyn for a job as VP Marketing for a restaurant group and subsequently lost that job 6 months later after uprooting my entire life.
I very much wanted to move back to my hometown New York and so the job was simply a means to an end.
But it was actually the beginning.
I’ve lost jobs before and each time, in retrospect, I bounced back stronger and better. Being in the moment of loss made it hard to think about what the future might be.
5 years ago I attended a workshop hosted by Thrive Women’s Network where I made this vision board. I met some wonderfully inspiring women including Pamela Nochlin and Becky Karp.
The vision board is on my refrigerator and I look at it every single day.

It reminds me that life is full of intentional possibilities because I allowed myself to imagine.
Imagining possibilities gives us hope.
Today I own a company and work with clients I care about. I live on Long Island and enjoy that view of the Bay shown here in the top left photo.
Now is a great time to re-visit the kind of world and life we want to live post-COVID.
Life will be different but that doesn’t mean it will be a bad thing. It will be what we make of it.
What will your life look like post-COVID?
